I would like to thankyou for the amazing work you have carried out on my teeth, After a visit to my local Australian dentist in 2006 I walked out stunned after he told me due to the condition of my teeth in the lower jaw he could not save the four front teeth due to an abscess and bone loss, He further went on saying if I was not prepared to spend thousands of dollars on bridges and crowns he would have to remove most of my teeth in the lower jaw and consider a denture,

I had heard of people having dental work done in Thailand so I started to do some research through the internet the price was around 50% lower than Australia but after factoring in accommodation and air fairs still was a little too costly, Also the response time was poor some dental hospitals were taking up to three weeks to respond to an email,

I found Dr Biju Thomas at www.scientificdentalclinic.com Over the next week or two several questions were asked all were answered quickly and reassuringly, I had a full x-ray done here in Australia and for a few dollars more asked for a copy to be put on a disk this was then emailed to Biju he confirmed my best option was to remove teeth and replace with dental implants,

On arriving in Cochin India I was a little nervous to say the least but after meeting Biju it was like seeing an old friend he was very warm and welcoming immediately I knew I could trust this man, All the work was carried out over the next few days with no pain, I was surprised at how easily Biju removed the tooth and fitted the implant in minutes so much so that I decided to have all 14 teeth removed and 8 implants done in the one sitting,

I was given pain killers and antibiotics so I was able to do some sight seeing and shopping the next day, After a few days the stitches were removed and I had a temporary denture made this was a little hard for me to get used to at first but after a few weeks I was coping with it,

I returned just under 5 months later to have the crowns fitted it gave me great pleasure to throw away my temporary plastic denture, My old teeth were short and were not visible when I smiled, the new crowns are fantastic Biju lengthened the crowns so they now can be seen when im smiling and talking, No more pain, tooth ache, bleeding gums, and bad breath just perfect white teeth.

Now that our treatments are complete and we are back in England we both wanted to write and thank you and your wife for all you have done for us.

When, in June 2007, my UK dentist quoted me what I considered was an exorbitant price for implants and crowns to bring my teeth back to an acceptable level of function and appearance, I started to research alternatives and quickly found your practice. Having enjoyed a previous visit to Kochi and having talked to some of your former patients, it wasn’t difficult to make the decision to consult you. We now know and can testify that this was an excellent choice.

Since our second visit to beautiful Kerala in August for the initial implant work and then our subsequent trip in February and March 2008 we have been expertly cared for by Manju through Kerala Healthcare Holidays, with all our requirements and expectations fully met. You have provided me with a complete fixed set of beautiful new teeth and my wife with some very comfortable crowns which she has been needing for years. You have used the best possible materials and methods and have made everything in your own dedicated laboratories using your own skilled technicians. Throughout the expert treatment you have patiently explained the procedures and made sure we were comfortable during the process. Now the teeth feel as if they have always been there and it a joy to be able to properly chew food again, to say nothing of the gleaming smiles!

Even with all the travelling and accommodation expenses we have saved a substantial sum of money and have enjoyed some excellent holidays as well; especially when Emirates upgraded us no less than four times! Truly a win-win solution!

In closing, thank you both very much for all your careful and caring attention, and most of all for the finished results. I sent you an e-mail when I returned to Ireland but since I haven't heard from you I believe that you may never have received it. Anyway I hope you are keeping well and your wife and boys. As for myself I am doing fine as are my teeth also. I never had one bit of trouble with then and am looking forward to getting my new teeth in two years time. Thank for all you have done for me. By the way will you be able to put an implant in to the reconstructed gum at that stage?

Now I'm back in the UK after an amazing week with you and two weeks with my spiritual teacher in the Punjab, I feel I need to write to you to thank you for coming into my life at exactly the right time. After holding on to my teeth for 65 years,things started to go wrong and teeth broke off,crowns and bridges became loose and I had two abcesses in a year. The prospect of dentures was looming fast. Dear Biju,

When I left you back in October 2006 after my first course of treatment, I thought the six months I had to wait for the implants to integrate would last an eternity. As you remember I had 10 teeth of my own left and 11 new implants. Although you made me very natural looking dentures in 48hrs to fill the large gaps, I could not get on with these and they impeded my speaking and singing. So I opted to "hide" for six months, only fully smiling when was alone! In retrospect the six months went quickly and I was in Cochin again for 'phase two'. Over those few weeks I was so impressed with the care,skill and generosity that came my way at your hands. knew from my last visit that I could trust you and I surrendered to your bounteous expertise and integrity.

I have been home for a month now and I cannot smile enough! You have made me proud to be me again! Everyone the knows of my dental "journey" says "Wow Ian, your teeth look fantastic. So natural and realistic." The implants that I had dreamt of having for years are so strong and I can bite and chew with full confidence. They are much stronger than I remember my own teeth being. I can't believe that only 7 months ago I walked into your surgery DESPERATE and praying that you could help me. Now I feel around my mouth with my tongue and I feel a full set of teeth, something I can't even remember having before! Apart from my film star quality smile, my face is much fuller and has less lines. So no face lift for me! Biju, I think you are a wonderful man and a fantastic dentist and implantologist. Testimonial for Dr Biju Thomas
My wife and I are on a prolonged sailing trip on our yacht Ambrosia. We had come to India to do some inland travel then sail to our next destination.

As happens dental treatment was required and by chance we came across the surgery of Dr Biju Thomas in Cochin. After preliminary discussion and examination the option of implants was raised. We had not considered this procedure in Australia as the cost was prohibitive and we did not have enough information from suitably qualified and experienced dentists. We also thought we may be too old as were both in out 60’s.

I have a full upper and lower denture and my wife had a partial upper and lower denture. Lyn required extensive treatment as a number of her teeth had reached the stage where crowns or extractions were required. Dr Thomas spent considerable time explaining the procedure of implants and the long term effects of bone loss in the jaw due to dentures. This convinced us that implants was the only way to go.

We felt quite at ease with Dr Thomas and his staff and had immense confidence in him due to his experience overseas as well as in India. His surgery is well equipped and equal or better than a lot we had seen in Australia and some of the Asian countries we had visited. A quote for the work was readily given which was within our budget and surprisingly lower than any other similar procedure we could find on the internet. We researched the procedure as thoroughly a possible to ensure that we new the history and current procedures on implants.

Dr Thomas explained the procedure and time frame to us as well as detailing his plan to restore our teeth and smile. I needed a full mouth rehabilitation and Lyn needed a number of teeth removed as well as some crowns and implants. In all I required 16 implants and Lyn 14.

I considered the pain of 16 implants in the dentist’s chair was not within my pain threshold so opted for a general anesthetic to do all the implants in one hit. This procedure I would recommend. Lyn is much braver than me and opted for the dentist’s chair. Dr Thomas then modified my dentures and made Lyn another set so we could carry on as normal.

After six months we returned to India and Dr Thomas carried on the procedure by exposing the implants and testing each one to ensure they had amalgamated with the bone. To our delight all had taken. The next four weeks was taken up in construction of the framework and fitting the ceramic teeth.

Dr Thomas was patient and a perfectionist and ensured the implants and structure gave us the best strength and natural look to our new teeth.

We have tested our new teeth and they have met our expectations.

Another approach from Dr Thomas that we had not encountered in a dentist before was his holistic approach to our health. This was most reassuring. To him teeth are only a part of the story. General health was also high on his agenda to ensure the implants had the best chance of amalgamating with the bone and we could both enjoy eating the foods we like.

His patience with our needs and feelings was excellent. His professional approach was better than I or Lyn had experienced at any time as was his attention to detail. On a number of occasions we though that we were taking up excessive amounts of his time with minor adjustments but he reassured us that it was our health and well-being that was his major concern.

Would we do it again – yes. Would we use Dr Thomas again – yes.

If we needed any major adjustments or repairs made to our teeth we would certainly come back to India and have Dr Thomas carry out the procedure.

Dr Thomas is one of the professionals that you come across once in a lifetime.

When I decided to have implant surgery, I first consulted dentists in this country, but was staggered by the cost, it was then suggested by a friend that I should consider travelling abroad for the procedure.

I e-mailed several web sites, but the first to reply was Dr. Thomas, I supplied the relevant details, and received a quotation (subject to x-rays) within 24 hours.

Once I had decided to go ahead, all my travel arrangements were made by Dr. Thomas’s tour division Kerala Health Care Holidays. I arrived in Cochin 1 day late due to an incident at Heathrow, but I had my first consultation on the first morning in India (Thursday 18/10) along with x-rays, and my first surgery in the afternoon, which lasted approximately 2 hours, my surgery was completed next morning, the whole process involved no pain, but a little soreness for a few days, and the treatment was conducted very professionally, and I was kept informed of what was happening at all times.

Saturday morning saw the time for temporary dentures to be fitted, and they are a great improvement on what my teeth looked like before.

Meanwhile my spare time was filled with trips and excursions arranged by Kerala Health Care Holidays. so the whole experience was enjoyable, and I am looking forward to April, when I will return to have the permanent teeth fitted.

I have no hesitation in praising the knowledge skill and professionalism of Dr. Thomas, and the travel and excursion advice and arrangements of Kerala Health Care Holidays

If you are reading this testimony from the western world… then like me, you have searched the internet for alternatives to paying many thousands of dollars at your local dentist. Well after approximately 2 months of research on the internet at locations like Thailand or Vietnam, my partner and I found the Scientific Dental Clinic in Cochin, India. With extremely competitive rates packaged with an amazing qualifications Dr Biju Thomas became the obvious choice.

Dr Biju Thomas was very patient with us answering our myriad of questions about what to expect in India also regarding the procedures. What really made the difference to me was that Dr Thomas has lived and been trained and worked in senior positions in Ireland and the UK, so he really understood our ‘Western’ needs and concerns unlike any other clinic we contacted in India.

Dr Thomas timed my surgery to fit within the 2 weeks that I was staying, and was happy to work around the Otoplasty that I booked in at the Medical Trust Hospital (just a short walk from Scientific Dental). His work was thorough and tailored to exactly what I wanted. I respected the fact that Dr Thomas wanted to give me a natural looking smile, but I wanted that Hollywood smile – perfectly straight and whiter than white. I got exactly what I wanted! The clinic was professional and hygienic, and the staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. All of the work carried out on my teeth was done with the up most of care and detail, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

On returning, my family and friends all marveled at his work, and are making their own bookings to see Dr Thomas too! Why wouldn’t they???

Dr Thomas has more qualifications than my local dentist, and even after paying for accommodation, flights, and surgery I have saved thousands of dollars and had a wonderful holiday.

A note on my impression of India:

India’s infrastructure was a culture shock for us when we first arrived, but it wasn’t long until the surroundings were overshadowed by the beautiful locals. My only travel suggestion is don’t trust the seemingly helpful strangers in Mumbai’s Airport, and find accommodation after you have arrived in Cochin. As booking online costs more and the rooms don’t always look like the photographs. Unlike our previous experience in Thailand we were never ‘conned’ or ‘ripped off’. I felt completely safe being by myself, so much so, that one night (instead of catching a Rick-Shaw) I walked back to my hotel after dark. I felt safer than if I was walking around in my home town, Gold Coast Australia!

People smiled and waved, the sound of song rose from the many churches, and clothes’s shopping was great!

We loved dining in our hotel ‘The Star Lagoon’, a beautiful 3 course meal with fine dining qualities cost us less than McDonalds meal back in Australia! Overall it was a wonderful experience. Cochin not only revived my smile, but my spirit too!

Now…. I just cant stop smiling
